Cut--

modo supports the ability to 'Cut' geometry selections from the 3D Model View, temporarily holding them in a buffer, where they can be Pasted into other layers or other files. To cut geometry from multiple mesh items do the following:

1) In the 'Item List' hold down the 'Ctrl' key and select multiple mesh item layers by LMB+clicking on their layer name.
2) In the 3D Model View, paint or marquee select the target geometry.
3) Use the command "Edit > Cut" or press 'Ctrl-x' on the keyboard.

This moves the geometry from the scene into the internal memory buffer. To paste this data into another layer or scene, simply select the target Mesh item layer in the appropriate scene and use the command "Edit > Paste" or press 'Ctrl-v'.

Copy--

modo supports the ability to 'Copy' geometry selections from the 3D Model View, temporarily holding them in a buffer, where they can be Pasted into other layers or other files. To copy geometry from multiple mesh items do the following:

1) In the 'Item List' hold down the 'Ctrl' key and select multiple mesh item layers by LMB+clicking on their layer name.
2) In the 3D Model View, paint or marquee select the target geometry.
3) Use the command "Edit > Copy" or press 'Ctrl-c' on the keyboard.

This clones the geometry from the scene into the internal memory buffer. To paste this data into another layer or scene, simply select the target Mesh item layer in the appropriate scene and use the command "Edit > Paste" or press 'Ctrl-v'.

Paste--

modo supports the ability to 'Paste' geometry from within its internal memory buffer into an alternate Mesh layer or scene file. In order to do so, users must first have used the 'Cut' or 'Copy' commands to place the selected components into the memory buffer. Users can use the command "Edit > Paste" of press 'Ctrl-v' placing the geometry from the memory buffer into the target mesh item layer. In the case of multiple layer selections in the Items list, the geometry will be inserted into the highest layer of the list.

Note: Any 'Cut' or 'Copy' operations on edges always 'Paste' as individual vertices (users may need to toggle viewport vertex visibility to see resulting pasted component).
