MODO indie has been developed to ensure broad hardware and software support, still, the creation of 3D modeling and rendering can push the limits of even the most powerful computer. For the best overall experience when using MODO indie, we recommend users systems comply with the minimum requirements outlined below. As in all things 3D, the more "horsepower" you have, so to speak, the better.

TIP: Many systems (especially laptops) include what is called an 'integrated graphics adapter', the necessary component in a computer to display images on your screen. These systems, while economical, often share memory with the CPU and are designed more for power saving than for performance with their drivers often barely or very poorly supporting standards necessary to MODO. Many issues in MODO can be traced to the graphics adapters and their drivers. The Foundry highly recommends the use of a discreet graphics adapter (often branded by AMD or Nvidia) for the best overall user experience.

Documentation Requirements

It is recommended to have the latest version installed of your preferred browsing application. This documentation has been tested to perform properly under the most recent versions of the following browsers-

  • Internet Explorer 9 or later
  • Firefox 25.0 or later
  • Safari 5.0 or later
  • Chrome 30.0 or later
While the documentation can be viewed locally from the host machine, an internet connection is required to view videos, user comments, rate pages and connect to external links.
